The Society for the Metaphysics of Science (SMS) will be hosting its Annual Conference at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. There are various outdoor activities available outside Halifax, such as hiking in Duncan's Cove, Polly Cove, and Bluff Wilderness Trail. Peggy's Cove Lighthouse is also accessible by bus or shuttle.

For over 20 years, the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) has hosted its national conference, Fire Rescue Canada (FRC). This national conference gives fire chiefs from across the country, many of whom are also emergency managers, the opportunity to convene for educational and networking purposes.
