The merging of building services with the Internet of Things and IT-based solutions is changing the "building" system. A far-reaching networking of different sensors and actuators in intelligent buildings creates new approaches, among other things, in the maintenance of the building through data analytics methods. Intelligent buildings can use machine learning to save energy, and predictive maintenance can be used, for example, to plan elevator maintenance more proactively. At the same time, the growing system complexity of smart buildings also creates new challenges for the planner and operator of such buildings. In this seminar, you will learn how to better assess the opportunities, but also the challenges, of networking and digitization in smart buildings. You will also receive a comprehensive overview of the basics of smart buildings and smart homes, practical feasibility and the topics of data security and data protection. In the end, you will be able to understand the building of the future as part of overarching systems such as the "Smart City" or the "Smart Grid" and better assess the various technologies.
In my evening lecture, I will discuss the significant role that the Higgs boson, discovered at the CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva, plays in expanding our comprehension of the universe.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Olaf Goebel from the "Energy Technology" department at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences provides an overview of how Germany can achieve its energy transition, the economic changes that will occur, and the implications for individuals.
Seminarnummer: J23.07002.
The iStar'23 workshop builds on previous successful workshops held in various locations worldwide. This year's 16th edition will be held alongside the 31st Requirements Engineering Conference.
Join us for a lecture on heating water treatment based on VDI guideline 2035-2. This guideline is crucial for heating engineers when setting up or renovating systems. The lecture will cover scale formation and corrosion. Register online to participate. Speaker: Oliver Dreher, Grünbeck Water Treatment GmbH, Lower Saxony branch.
In Berlin and Brandenburg, there are various archives, museums, and collections that preserve architectural history sources like files, drawings, models, photos, and correspondence. These are evaluated, indexed, and maintained by different institutions in the region. The need for coordinated and sustainable collection is growing due to limited resources and environmental concerns. The assessment of takeover bids and the destruction of unnecessary sources will be done more critically in the future.
