Celebrating mystery, adventure, science fiction, and more!"Weird Tales was the first publication dedicated to fantasy and science fiction. Its focus was not shared by its publisher, Baird, who preferred Real Detective and Mystery Stories. The magazine featured excellent supernatural and sci-fi stories, including H.P. Lovecraft's cosmic horror tales. Another publisher created a sports fiction pulp while a financially struggling one started the chilling stories magazine. Epperly, an Art Institute of Chicago student, is now widely represented in public and private collections.
