International Milling Industry, Bakery, and Confectionery Fair. A separate specialized event was started in response to the requirements by exhibitors and professional associations. The bakery and confectionery are businesses where the trends of automation and use of new technological processes are increasingly wide-spread, and they are usually presented in the form of separate trade fairs. The MBK trade fair is prepared in collaboration with the Business Association of Bakers and Confectioners, the Czech Republic Union of Industrial Mills and other associations and it is distinctly developing as one of the biggest professional bakery trade fairs in Central Europe. The MBK is a comprehensive presentation of products, services and technologies designed for the miller’s, baker’s and confectioner’s trades and it takes place at the time tied in with the chain of the main European bakery trade fairs, i.e. EUROPAIN Paris and IBA Duesseldorf.
At the present time ca 11,900 businesses are registered in the food sector, of which ca 9,400 are natural persons doing business on the basis of the Act to Regulate Trades. The turnover of the Czech food market is 270 billion CZK, of which about 225 billion go to the food chains. Czech export is worth 60 billion CZK and import of the food sector ca 90 billion CZK. In the segment of small and medium-sized businesses in the area of dairies, bakeries and meat processors the market is expected to concentrate – new leaders in the field will appear. On the retail market the structure of suppliers is changing (more goods imported from the neighbouring member countries, incl. Poland). The buying power of the Czech population is approaching the European standard very slowly. The buying power of the Czech Republic converted to the number of inhabitants is ca 66% of the average standard of the EU15 (in Hungary 59%, Slovakia 49% and Poland 45%). EVENT CHARACTERISTICS Acknowledged as the most significant food and food industry trade fair in Central Europe, SALIMA attracts leading food producers and buyers from the Czech Republic and the neighbouring EU countries: Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Germany, Slovenia and Hungary, as well as from Eastern Europe. SALIMA features top class food products, and food-processing machinery, technology, packaging machines, industry related IT solutions.
Wine consumption is continuously growing and also the culture of wine drinking, and Moravian and Bohemian wine growers are producing more high-quality and noble wines. Consumers are choosing these products more and more and are willing to pay the corresponding price. The year-on-year growth of the Czech wine market is stabile, i.e. by 7%, and is very perspective. However, in wine consumption the Czech Republic still considerably lags behind the EU average. After the enlargement of the common European market a new space has opened for wine importers.The wine show, VINEX, reflects the new market trend towards quality wine consumption in the Czech and Central European market. It is by far the most comprehensive presentation of domestic and foreign wine industries and viticulture in Central Europe.

The trade fair HOLIDAY WORLD is the most important presentation of travel agencies, domestic regions, national tourism offices and other services for the travel industry in the Middle Europe. For its 21st year, the event will offer not only presentations of many different countries, but also its traditional sub-section Region World 2012, which reviews the presentations of regions in the Czech Republic. In addition to the interesting exhibits, the upcoming year of the fair plans also to feature an attractive accompanying programme, not only consisting of the travel film festival World Film but also a series of seminars, conferences and workshops on key topics in the tourism industry. Holiday World will continue with its tradition of holding two commercial days.
AMPER Trade Fair is the biggest international trade fair of its field in Czech Republic.In AMPER 2011 participated 580 companies from 24 countries of the world on the net exhibition space 13.200 sq.m. Brno Exhibition Centre offers modern halls P, F, V, G1 and a world class services. Besides perfect infrastructure, technical and safety services, the fair centre offers vast possibilities for organizing specialized seminars and conferences. Record number of visitors - 100 000March 25, 2010 BVV Press Center - The complex of agricultural and forestry fairs was of an extraordinary interest for the general public. Within the first four days, the fairs were attended by 95 000 visitors. Based on a survey, most of them were interested in the trefoil of the TECHAGRO, ANIMAL VETEX, SILVA REGINA Fairs and the World Exhibition of Hunting Development, 6 % came to the International Exhibition of Fishing Tackle FISHING. The number of visitors to the agricultural fairs will probably surpass on Thursday, for the first time in the history, 100 000 (in 2008 the number of visitors was 93 000, two years earlier 78 000).The Brno agricultural, breeding and forestry show belongs to the largest of its nature in Europe. This year's run occupied the whole Exhibition Centre incl. open spaces on which heavy machinery was displayed, practical shows of biomass processing and also attractive accompanying program took place. The TECHAGRO, ANIMAL VETEX and SILVA REGINA Fairs and the World Exhibition of Hunting Development were attended by 713 participating firms from 21 countries, for the first time also from Argentine, Croatia and Romania. The occupied exhibition space exceeded 64 000 m2, similarly to two years ago.In spite of a difficult economic situation, a number of firms did not only present their products, but also concluded contracts directly in the place. In addition to Czech farmers and foresters, exhibitors also discussed with foreign customers who came to Brno from 36 countries (4 000). Organized excursions of professionals arrived e.g. from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Ukraine, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary or Austria.Visitors positively appraised the high number of novelties. Almost every bigger firm presented in Brno innovated machines or technologies. For the competitions of the best exhibits, exhibitors entered a record number of 76 novelties, twelve of them were awarded Grand Prix and another three were granted extraordinary recognitions by the international Jury of Assessment.
