Europe's largest model show is being presented in Dortmund. It comprises over 20.000 individual models and covers a gross area of 52.000 square metres in eight halls. Aeroplanes, helicopters, railways and trams, minicars, motorbikes, minitrucks, steam engines, hot air balloons, zeppelins, ships, boats, police cars, fire engines and ambulances, excavators and carousels – there is scarcely any original object that cannot be seen as a model at INTERMODELLBAU. The largest draws will be the aeroplane demonstrations, a 400 m² pond for demonstrating model boats, the attractive demonstration areas for minitrucks and work vehicles like excavators and cranes, and a minicar race track. Around 450 exhibiting companies and four nationwide-active modelmaking clubs will be participating at INTERMODELLBAU at stands and special shows. The tenth edition of the "art bodensee" left nothing to be desired. About fifty galleries, museums and institutions from six countries presented over 500 works by 280 artists / inside. There are upwards of 95 Stamp Dealers plus 60+ Coin, Banknote and Medal Dealers with stands, buying and selling material. Tables and chairs at the stands make for comfort. You can buy or sell, get valuations or just browse and see what the hobby is all about. There are often specialist society meetings to which everyone is welcome, whether member or not. There is a bar for alcoholic drinks plus a full self service restaurant serving hot and cold meals, open during the day.

The Great British Beer Festival at Earls Court, Britain's biggest beer festival, brings together a wide range of real ales, ciders, perries and international beers.At least 450 beers available throughout, including golden ales, fruit beers, stouts, bitters and some international real lagers. As well as beer there is also cider and perry, all available in pint, half pint and third pint measures.There's plenty to occupy you at the festival, you can play on some traditional pub games, enjoy live music, sample some food, including good traditional pub snacks, and also attend tutored beer tastings. The tutored tastings usually sell out in advance so please book early to avoid disappointment.
