The leading exhibition for model engineers will continue to enthral visitors and enthusiasts alike with the hundreds of fine models on display. See nearly 800 fantastic scale models from the age of steam to the present day! This prestigious exhibition enjoys the full support of over forty national and regional modelling clubs and societies who display a wide range of their members’ work. Club members and stewards are on hand to talk about their hobby and their models and the exhibition hall will be packed with a vast range of modelling interests from railway locomotives, traction and stationary engines to model boats and destroyers and rockets. During the exhibition visitors will have the opportunity to purchase the latest products from the comprehensive selection of specialist suppliers. From materials to machinery, everything a model engineer or modeller could possibly need to build anything from a grandfather clock to a scale railway locomotive will be available and with over 90 leading suppliers present model engineers will be spoilt for choice. This is the South’s showcase of model engineering…not to be missed.

The trade show for LOFA members is called SOLEX. The original announcement was made at a press launch to Trade Press at the Goring Hotel on Monday 2nd July 2007 and the first SOLEX show took place on July 6th to July 8th 2008 and acclaimed a success by the industry The fourth SOLEX show promises to be even better building on the first three successful shows with more exhibiton space in a brand new hall, new exciting developments and more exhibitors but retaining the relaxed but business like atmosphere.

There are upwards of 95 Stamp Dealers plus 60+ Coin, Banknote and Medal Dealers with stands, buying and selling material. Tables and chairs at the stands make for comfort. You can buy or sell, get valuations or just browse and see what the hobby is all about. There are often specialist society meetings to which everyone is welcome, whether member or not. There is a bar for alcoholic drinks plus a full self service restaurant serving hot and cold meals, open during the day.
The Guild will showcase at Michelham Priory, a Grade I listed Tudor house surrounded by medieval moat and gardens. Contemporary craft makers will display ceramics, textiles, jewellery, leatherwork, pewter, wood, glass, metalwork and furniture. Demonstrations available.
