Hokie BugFest is an annual event that celebrates the fascinating world of entomology and the Virginia Tech community's commitment to education. It is held at the Squires Student Center in Blacksburg and offers live bugs, educational exhibits, and hands-on activities for all ages. The event is part of an ongoing youth education program organized by the Virginia Tech Department of Entomology, Virginia Tech College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Virginia Cooperative Extension's 4-H program, and the W. B. Alwood Entomological Society. The Alwood Society, which has been active since 1966, has reached over 30,000 children through department tours, school visits, and events like the Hokie BugFest.
