The BIO Africa Convention is an annual event that brings together professionals in the biotechnology industry to exchange ideas and opportunities. It focuses on innovations in health, energy, agriculture, and entrepreneurship. The convention features various sessions, plenaries, and tracks, and includes a Start-up Stadium for emerging biotech start-ups to showcase their work. In 2023, the theme is "Re-imagining Biotechnology Innovation for Africa's Development and Security." The convention provides a platform for networking, collaboration, and learning from experts in the field. Additionally, there will be a Diversity in Clinical Trials Webinar Series to promote inclusion and diversity in clinical trials. The convention will take place at the Durban International Convention Centre in South Africa. To further support the growth of the African biotech industry, BIO Africa has created the Dialogue for African Biotech Leaders platform, which encourages discussions, exchange of insights, and building relationships among biotech leaders in Africa.
