The conference aims to highlight the importance of psychiatrists in transforming outdated cultures and addressing the risks and consequences of institutionalism. Professor Ciaran Mulholland, a Consultant Psychiatrist and Professor at Queen's University Belfast, will share his expertise on trauma related to trouble and its relevance to the field of Learning Disability. Amanda Allard from the National Children's Bureau will discuss safeguarding children with disabilities and complex health needs in residential settings.
