In den letzten Jahren haben jugendliche und erwachsene Besucherinnen und Besucher für den Besuch der OBA Ostschweizer Bildungs-Ausstellung fünf beziehungsweise zehn Franken Eintritt bezahlt. Diese Einnahmen waren eine wichtige Säule für die Finanzierung der Ausstellung mit ihrem umfangreichen Rahmenprogramm. Im Rahmen der erfolgreichen Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kantonalen Gewerbeverband St.Gallen und dem St.Galler Amt für Berufsbildung konnte die OBA jetzt breiter abgestützt werden. Gemeinsam ist es den Trägern in der Folge gelungen, vom Bundesamt für Berufsbildung und Technologie BBT einen Unterstützungsbeitrag zu erwirken. Damit können die Eintritte durch diesen Bundesbeitrag ersetzt werden, der OBA-Besuch wird für Erwachsene und vor allem Jugendliche in der Berufswahl kostenlos. Die Mitfinanzierung durch das BBT ist eine aktive Bundes-Massnahme zur Förderung der Berufsinformation.
