The inaugural Chip in Rio event will host workshops and seminars in underprivileged communities in Rio de Janeiro. It includes five different symposiums and a technology fair, with a focus on promoting the participation of women in science. The event will also feature exhibitions and workshops at Museu de Arte do Rio and Museu do Amanhã, and will involve local schools in outreach activities. The organizers of the event are Ana Barros, Fabián Olivera, Germano Maioli Penello, Guilherme Torelly, Maurício Pamplona Pires, and Roberto Jakomin, all from various universities in Brazil.
