Joanna Kotze's 'lectric Eye is a one-hour dance performance that explores loss, isolation, persistence, resistance, and power. It features music and movement to challenge physical and sonic limits performed by ten North Carolina artists.

Hyoung Nam Kim is the on-site organization Chief and Kyung Eun Shim is the Coordinator of the Korean Society of Dance Studies (KSDS). The KSDS focuses on contemporary research topics and promotes academic growth through interdisciplinary collaboration. Save The Soil"Climate change is one of the greatest threats that humanity has ever faced. Even in its early stages, we have seen its tragic consequences in Africa. Yet there seems to be a dearth of practical solutions. Without question, the world must transition to renewable energy, but making that transition, even at the rate of the most optimistic projections, won't be fast enough to stabilize the climate. In addition to renewable energy, we must draw down carbon from the atmosphere and replenish the depleted stores of carbon in the soil where it enhances fertility, boosts productivity, and creates drought resilience. Agriculture can be a driving force to mitigate climate change by adopting carbon farming practices. Following the success of last year's conference, which paved the way for discussions and debates that achieved a multitude of outcomes and strategies around how to manage soil through low carbon practices and technologies ensuring sustainability.

We are planning for Botany 2023 will be a hybrid conference with a format similar to last year. Currently, the plan is to have Symposia and Special Lectures will be presented in person. Colloquia, Contributed Papers, and Lightning Talks must all be pre-recorded and uploaded to the platform in early July – the date to be announced shortly. New this year – Posters must be presented in person, however, after the Monday night Poster Session, presenters will have the opportunity to upload their poster to the platform to be part of the online version of the conference.
