The Annual Fall Social Work Conference in Alabama provides child welfare practitioners an opportunity to hear from national speakers and learn about the latest research. It is organized by the University of Alabama School of Social Work through a partnership with the Alabama Department of Human Resources and the Alabama Higher Education Consortium on Child Welfare. The conference focuses on different aspects of public child welfare each year and offers workshops to discuss issues related to child well-being and workforce well-being. While it is designed for the public child welfare workforce, it is also beneficial for anyone working with at-risk children and their families, including school social workers, therapists, foster parents, and child-placing agencies.
